1. NEW MUSIC: MONICA F/ RICK ROSS & LIL KIM - “ANYTHING (TO FIND YOU)”

Looks like Monica was for really real serious about releasing a new album this year, because she just dropped her brand new single “Anything (To Find You)” featuring Rick Ross and Lil Kim. The 90s hip-hop flavored banger was produced by Missy Elliott and samples the Biggie classic “Who Shot Ya?” Mo’s upcoming seventh album New Life is the follow-up to last year’s gold-selling Still Standing.

I can’t lie, I was almost nervous listening to this being that Missy produced it and I can easily get tired of her samples like in an instant. But this one is a winner! Ricky Rozay really didn’t need to add the Maybach Music voice effect in the track, but his verse was a nice touch. Even Kimmy Blanco added a nice feel to the track with her little verse (you know if it’s anything sampling Biggie, she has to be on it smh). I can see this being another strong urban hit for Monica. Her bestie Keyshia Cole needs to take notes.

New Life is expected in stores early Fall.

  2. MUSIC VIDEO: KEYSHIA COLE - “TAKE ME AWAY”

Looks like Keyshia Cole’s album Calling All Flops Hearts isn’t completely dead yet (I give it another three weeks). The R&B singer just released the TAJ-directed video for her third CAL single “Take Me Away,” produced by Chink Santana and Irv Gotti.

In the words of JoJo, this is too little too late! The single was officially released back in February and is already dropping down the R&B charts. Maybe the video will pick things up, but I highly doubt it. And Keyshia, how many times can you shoot a video on a beach and sing about being in the VIP?

But KC is looking to revive things real soon, dropping her longtime manager Manny Halley and beginning work on her fifth album, due later this year. I see Keyshia is pulling a Ciara with the whole “Fantasy Ride flopped, so let’s record a new album (Basic Instinct),” which flopped hard in the paint. But will Keyshia have a better outcome? We shall see.

  3. KEYSHIA COLE EYES LADY GAGA COLLAB FOR NEW ALBUM

Keyshia Cole JUST released her new album Calling All Hearts a month ago but is already plotting her next release. Since Hearts opened to not-so-stellar first week numbers (only selling over 140k to date since it’s release), KC is ready to move onto recording what will be her fifth album. When speaking with MTV News on who she would love to get in the booth with on the next disc, Keyshia replied

“I would honestly love to work with one of the girls that are huge in pop, like a Beyoncé or Lady Gaga or Fergie.”

So could this be a possible outlook on the sound of Keyshia’s new album? I kinda sorta hope so because I would like to see her expand her sound in a different arena while still staying true to her roots. A Gaga or Fergie collaboration wouldn’t be hard to achieve being that all three ladies are under the Interscope umbrella. It’s all a matter of KC actually reaching out to make it all happen.

IMO, Keyshia has the potential to release a huge record that will crossover to mainstream, just look at “Let It Go” and the Diddy-collabo “Last Night.” However, she had the opportunity to take on the challenge with ‘08’s A Different Me, failing to release standout tracks such as “Please Don’t Stop” and “Erotic”…hell even “Beautiful Music” was taking off nicely.

Keyshia is also one of the rare R&B chicks that can do some Pop music while still keeping her urban soul alive (listen to A Different Me’s supposed-to-be single “This Is Us”). So this new chapter will be interesting to watch in terms of sound, being that Calling All Hearts is flopping due to horrible ass single choices even she regrets (s/o to “I Ain’t Thru”).

But in the meantime, Keyshia will be releasing the Irv Gotti/Chink Santana-produced “Take Me Away” as the third single from CAH. She recently shot a video for the track as well as kicking off promo for the single by performing on The Conan O’Brien Show last week.

  4. LIL KIM STILL HATES NICKI MINAJ, BRINGS KEYSHIA COLE AND MARY J. BLIGE IN THE MIX

While relevant artists and celebs partied for New Year’s Eve in places like NYC, Vegas, Miami and L.A., Lil Kim had to settle for a party performance at the Hippodrome in Springfield, Massachusetts (really? Massachusetts?)

Anywho, Kimberly did her usual diss towards Nicki Minaj, but added to different twist to the plot. As the DJ played the classic “I Can Love You” by Mary J. Blige and Kim, the plastic one proceeded to talk more shit about Nicki but this time bringing Keyshia Cole and MJB into the mix. Apparently in Kim’s delusional eye contacts, Keyshia and Nicki were talking smack about the two in “I Ain’t Thru” (the song Keyshia regrets releasing because it flopped harder than a failed silent poot).

Y’all just gotta watch the video to get the jist of the whole situation. I remember when the whole comparisons between Nicki and Kim popped off. I was Team Kim just because it came across like Nicki was biting her style. Then when “Roman’s Revenge” and “Black Friday” dropped, I was on both of their sides because they were some hot records. But now, I hate Lil Kim with a passion of the Christ for starting dumb beefs for no reason at all. And ain’t it funny Kim was on Keyshia’s Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit “Let It Go” a few years ago? (Also the last time I’ve seen Kim’s name anywhere near a Billboard chart - that “Download” bullshit dont count).

This is just foolishness now! This is as whack as the failed “Christmas Massacre” diss Foxy Brown tried to drop on Christmas, where she’s dissing who else? Lil Kim. That beef is as old as the crust around Inga’s scalp and FUBU.

  6. LIVE: KEYSHIA COLE - “LONG WAY DOWN” (‘WENDY WILLIAMS’)

Prepping for the release of her fourth album Calling All Hearts next Tuesday, Keyshia Cole stopped by The Wendy Williams Show this week to perform her single “Long Way Down.” KC also spoke about her fiance, her baby’s first Christmas, and the current relationship state between she and her mother Frankie Lons, who’s currently on this season of Celebrity Rehab w/ Dr. Drew.

Keyshia looked real good! Very The Way It Is-ish. Also, I listened to the new CD and while I’m not a fan of “I Ain’t Thru” (just like how I felt “Playa Cards Right” from A Different Me was a horrible choice), the rest of the CD is pretty good.

  7. MUSIC VIDEO: KEYSHIA COLE F/ NICKI MINAJ - “I AIN’T THRU”

Keyshia Cole reverts to her hood-like ways and Nicki Minaj pulls out the “Up Out My Face” wig for KC’s new Benny Boom-directed clip for “I Ain’t Thru.” The cut is the lead single from Keyshia’s upcoming fourth album Calling All Hearts, in stores December 21st.

  8. MONICA GETS ENGAGED TO SHANNON BROWN

Here’s another example of when video art imitates life (shout out to Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon).

They walked down the aisle in her video for “Love All Over Me” (which the fans chose the ending), but now Monica and Shannon Brown will be doing exactly that in real life real soon. The R&B songstress and the LA Laker announced their engagement via Twitter.

This isn’t the first time Monica has been given a ring. She was engaged for some time to former fiancé Rocko, with the two calling it off earlier this year due to infidelity on the rapper’s part. Rocko is also father to two of Mo’s sons, Lil’ Rocko and Romelo.

This sounds like the same scenario her BFF Keyshia Cole encountered. She meets Cleveland Cavalier baller Daniel Gibson on the set of “Trust,” where he’s the leading man. He gets her knocked up and now they’re engaged. Interesting!

Mo is currently working on the follow-up to this year’s gold-selling Still Standing, recruiting her cousin Polow Da Don as executive producer of the project which she hopes to have out by next summer.

In case you haven’t heard it yet, here is the remix to her new single “Here I Am” featuring Trey Songz. Listen HERE

  9. STTP: BEYONCE, KEYSHIA COLE, CIARA, KERI HILSON

After a lengthy delay, Beyonce will finally release her I Am…Tour DVD on November 30th! The show, which was taped live in London last November, will also feature the first stage performance of “Ego” featuring Kanye West.

Bey is also gearing up for an ABC special to air during Thanksgiving week. More details are to come.

Keyshia Cole is ready to unleash new music just in time for the holidays! KC will release her fourth album, Keyshia, on December 14th. She’ll be going up against her “Last Night” collaborator Diddy and his Dirty Money crew Last Train To Paris, Ciara’s Basic Instinct and her ex-boyfriend Jeezy’s TM103. If you haven’t done so, check out Keyshia’s new Nicki Minaj-assisted single “I Ain’t Thru” HERE

Time to put the Keri Hilson/Ciara feud stories to rest! This video will pretty much explain it all.

  10. NEW MUSIC: KEYSHIA COLE F/ NICKI MINAJ - “I AIN’T THRU”

Keyshia Cole has been gone for a minute tending to motherhood and spending quality time with her fiance Daniel Gibson. Now, the R&B songstress is coming back strong with her new Nicki Minaj-assisted single “I Ain’t Thru.” The bossy track from the Oakland Gangstress is the lead single from her forthcoming fourth album, simply titled Keyshia (in stores this December).

Download “I Ain’t Thru” Here Diggin’ this hood return of Keyshia. She played it nice and sweet on her last album A Different Me, so it’s nice to see the edge back.

Also, today marks her 29th birthday - so HAPPY BIRTHDAY KC!

  11. DETAILS ON BRITNEY SPEARS’ NEW LP BEFORE IT’S 2011 RELEASE

For the past few months, Britney Spears has been ducking in and out of the studio recording her seventh studio album. Originally due for release sometime this year, the singer’s new album is now scheduled for a tentative Spring 2011 release, putting her in the list of the most anticipated albums of 2011 along with Beyonce and Lady Gaga.

Just last week, Brit and her A&R rep Teresa LaBabara Whites recently enlisted an all-star cast of writers for a special writing camp held in Dallas. Many producers and songwriters have come forward revealing their contribution to the pop star’s newest disc, but now here is a breakdown of who’s who that’s collaborating with the new “Queen of Pop” to rev up the anticipation for new music.

Check out the list under the cut
