1. KATY PERRY TO RE-RELEASE ‘TEENAGE DREAM’

After going through a divorce with Russell Brand and not being seen publicly since, Katy Perry will stay focused on her work by re-releasing her double-platinum sophomore album Teenage Dream. Scheduled for a release in March, the re-packaged album will now be titled Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection. There’s no word on whether the re-release will be combined with the original album or a standalone EP ala Lady Gaga’s The Fame Monster and Ke$ha’s Cannibal, but it will contain some new tracks produced by Tricky Stewart and probably the single versions to all six of her Billboard Hot 100 hits.

Ever since she got her round of #1 singles this era, Katy Hudson and Capital have been desperate as fuck to get her a new #1 every single release. However, the buck got stopped with “The One That Get Away.” Even with that, her chart hoe shit tactics were even more evident by dropping a single/radio version, a B.o.B-featured remix and the just-released acoustic version. And we all thought Beyonce was bad in her heyday SMH.

Anywho, at this point Katy needs to be releasing her third album off the success of Teenage Dream instead of re-releasing an album that came out August 2010. Hell, Jessie J’s ”Domino” could’ve been her lead single and another #1. I truly don’t understand, but I’m 1000% sure this re-release will produce another #1 smash so that Katy can go to bed comfortably knowing she achieved her goal.

  2. NEW MUSIC: JAY-Z F/ BLUE IVY CARTER - “GLORY”

Just two days after the birth of his second first child, Jay-Z has done something I was sure he was gonna do…dedicate and record a song entitled “Glory” for his newborn daughter Blue Ivy Carter. Over an old-school sampled R&B beat, Hov reveals how his wifey Beyonce originally suffered a miscarriage, the joys of being a “new” father and how he hopes to raise his new daughter. And even just at two days old, little Blue Ivy is already hoppin’ on the track, providing some crying skills on the end of the song.

I definitely appreciate hearing a track like this come from Hov. Now that he’s older, more comfortable than ever and a family man now, you can just hear that he’s happy.

The couple also released a joint statement for their new baby:

    Hello Hello Baby Blue!

We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012.

Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven.

She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives.

We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support.

    Beyoncé & JAY Z

  3. IT’S OFFICIAL: BEYONCE GIVES BIRTH TO BABY GIRL!

Well folks, it didn’t happen on Christmas Eve nor Christmas Day, but it has FINALLY happened…Beyonce and Jay-Z are now the proud parents of a baby girl!

Ever since she debuted her undercover pregnancy at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, Bey has been under a lot of eye-watch due to the validity of her pregnancy. Everything from rumors of fake/prosthetic bumps to just flat out faking her pregnancy to spike album sales for 4, she just was getting no luck. It wasn’t until very recently that she was looking very puff-like as if she was gonna pop any moment if you just press her stomach.

But back to the story, Bey gave birth to her baby girl on Saturday, January 7th in New York’s Lennox Hill Hospital during a scheduled C-section delivery. The Carters had the entire floor rented out at the hospital in the Upper East Side (like a baaaaws!).

So are y’all ready for the name? After much people thought that Hov and Bey would name their daughter Brooklyn after Jay said it in “Hello Brooklyn,” the two have named their new baby Blue Ivy Carter! And just as expected, Blue is already getting major love from her parents’ friends and celebs alike.

“Welcome to the world princess Carter!” Rihanna tweeted, signing off: “Love Aunty Rih.”

Mom-to-be and reality sister Kourtney Kardashian tweeted: “Congratulations to Beyonce, the 2nd Princess of Pop (behind Britney) for her new baby girl Ivy Blue!”

Young Jeezy also showed his support for his former bossman and his lady, tweeting “Congratulations to Jay-Z & Beyonce on baby Ivy Blue being born.” (SN: what ever happened to that Jeezy and Bey record called “Mama Knows?”)

Of course The Carters’ best friend Gwyneth Paltrow had some kind words to say to the new parents, tweeting “Welcome to the world Blue! We love you already.”

While I’m still trying to figure out what the hell and Ivy Blue is, the name just screams inspiration from Gwyneth and her husband Chris Martin naming their kids all types of funny names like Apple and Moses and whatnot. I really thought their daughter would be named Brooklyn or something complicated like Beyonce (y’all know that name was hard to pronounce when she first came out back in ‘96).

Either way, their baby girl is healthy and here! Now let’s see how long it’ll take for pictures to come out! That also leaves room for Bey to come back out sooner than expected for her shooting of her new film A Star Is Born and her new tour and album. I also wonder who are the official God parents. Kanye is already a shoe in, but with Kelly Rowland running her damn mouth all the time and first giving out the info that Bey was having a girl, Michelle may take her place (but I digress). Plus, Kelly is already Blue’s aunt since she’s Mathew’s oldest daughter.

    Congrats to the Carters!

SN2: I wonder when will Blue meet her big brother…y’all know Jay got another seed out there, but y’all didn’t hear that from DOC! LOL

  4. DOC’S 2011 MOST FASCINATING THINGS AND PEOPLE

Well people, it’s that time of year to say goodbye to one year and welcome in the next. And while me and my FNL RADIO co-hosts Yoshi, Brandiinoo and Chris weren’t able to do a year-end show for you all, I decided to go back to my old stomping grounds of YouTube to do a DOC TV version of a quick year in review video…all under 15 minutes!

I talk about everything and everyone from Adele, Beyonce, Jay-Z and Kanye West, T.I., Kelly Rowland…just everything!

  5. MUSIC VIDEO: MARY J. BLIGE - “25/8”

With her new album dropping later this month, Mary J. Blige has finally dropped the video for her lead single “25/8.” The video for the first single from My Life II: The Journey Continues (Act I) was directed by Diane Martel (Beyonce, Britney Spears), who last worked with MJB in 1995 on the GRAMMY Award-winning Method Man collabo “I’ll Be There For You/You’re All I Need To Get By.”

This video here…me don’t likey :(. Diane is one of my favorite directors, but this video here ain’t it! Some of the graphics look like it came from the behind-the-scenes footage of Khia’s “Be Your Lady” video and just…ewww. And I still have yet to really like the song and it’s still not doing that well on the charts. Back to the video, I can appreciate the throwback reference to Mary’s 1999 album Mary. Also, will someone PLEEEEASE tell Aunt Wilona to stop doing choreography and just break out in her “Real Love” jig. Mary doing choreography is the most awkward thing for her because she’s just stiff (to this day, I still laugh at her breakdown in the “Deep Inside” video). But nothing will shit on her routine from “Family Affair” when she was a crackhead and an alcoholic.

Maybe her new Drake-assisted single “Mr. Wrong” will be the Mr. Right to help her make a nice dent on the singles chart, because regardless, she’s still gonna sell album units based off her name.

Aunt Wilona’s My Life II: The Journey Continues (Act I) drops on November 21st.

  6. MUSIC VIDEO: BEYONCE F/ J. COLE - “PARTY”

    Another week, another Beyonce video.

This time, the self-proclaimed King B FINALLY released the video for my favorite song from 4, the Kanye West-produced “Party”. Bey, who directed the clip along with Solange’s boo thang Alan Ferguson, was shot in a trailer park out in Jersey in August. Speaking of, Solange makes an appearance as well as Kelly Rowland, who came out to support her little sister best friend. However, I’m still upset that Andre 3000 doesn’t appear on the single version, with J. Cole taking his place on the radio and video remix version (which has surprisingly grown on me…but I still hate his verse).

I must say, this is my favorite video from the 4 era thus far! The colors, the racthetness that Khia claims that was copied from her epic “My Neck, My Back” video, the fun vibes and the trailer park ghettoness made this video everything I imagined it would be. Even if she used some used her money wisely and used footage from her Dazed and Confused magazine shoot and some promo pics (looks familiar? I designed this cover waaaay back in June), the video still turned out great. But cot damn Beyonce, you could’ve kept Andre’s verse on and the dog in the beginning of the video could’ve rapped his verse. And the bathroom/motel scene kinda reminded me of Mariah Carey’s “The Roof” video from back in ‘98. Still, the video is epic and her and Kelly’s lil scene was cute.

  7. TRACKLIST: MARY J. BLIGE - ‘MY LIFE II: THE JOURNEY CONTINUES (ACT I)’

My Life II... The Journey Continues (Act I)

With her album a month away from it’s release, Mary J. Blige has FINALLY unveiled the tracklist for her upcoming new album My Life II: The Journey Continues (Act I). The sequel to her epic 1994 sophomore disc My Life will feature 15 tracks on standard, including collabos with Beyonce, Busta Rhymes, Nas and Rick Ross. Even Mary’s rap alter ego Brook Lynn resurfaces for the set’s track “Midnight Drive.” Executive producer of the original album Diddy also pops up in a phone conversation skit with MJB on MLII intro. Also, previously leaked tracks Miss Me With That” and “Feel Inside” makes it to the final tracklist.

My Life II: The Journey Continues (Act I) Tracklist:

    1. Intro
    2. Feel Inside (featuring Nas)
    3. Midnight Drive (featuring Brook Lynn)
    4. Next Level (featuring Busta Rhymes)
    5. Ain’t Nobody
    6. 25/8
    7. Don’t Mind
    8. No Condition
    9. Mr. Wrong
    10. Why (featuring Rick Ross)
    11. Love A Woman (featuring Beyonce)
    12. Irreversible
    13. Empty Prayers
    14. Need Someone To Love You
    15. The Living Proof
(from the motion picture The Help)

    Deluxe Edition Bonus Tracks:
    16. The Journey Continues
    17. Miss Me With That
    18. Someone To Love Me (Naked) (featuring Diddy & Lil Wayne)

The journey must be continuing for Mary in her grade 3 reading class for this long ass album title! Aside from that, I’m looking forward to hearing this album.

  8. NEW MUSIC: BEYONCE F/ J. COLE - “PARTY (REMIX)”

Listen: Beyoncé f/ J. Cole "Party"

So folks, the rumor is true. No, not Beyonce ”Belly Watch 2011,” but the official radio and video versions of “Party” will no longer feature Andre 3000. Instead, she has enlisted the help of Roc Nation’s J. Cole for the official remix to her latest single produced by Kanye West

This “pregnancy” hormonal stuff got Beyonce fucked in the head on some fuck shit because she doesn’t know how to commit to a single nowadays. As far as 3 Stacks no longer being on the single version, I’m still trying to get info on the label issues that prevented that from happening. However, she could’ve had Kanye add a verse or something. Don’t get me wrong, J. Cole is dope, but this is like her “Ego” remix all over again - Kanye is a great artist, but his verse was whack and recycled from College Dropout. Cole’s verse just seems…bleh! But I appreciate him wanting to up his mainstream credits.

The “Party” video will make its world premiere on 106 & Park on Tuesday, October 25th.

  9. MUSIC VIDEO: BEYONCE - “LOVE ON TOP”

    Another week, another Beyonce video.

She just dropped the video for her latest 4 US single “Countdown,” but now King B is kickin it old school for her Australian-single “Love On Top.” In the basic video, Bey gets inspired by New Edition’s “If It Isn’t Love” as well old vids by The Temptations and Jackson 5 for the dance video, which was shot in a spacious penthouse overlooking NYC.

First off, she looks like the “Crazy In Love” Beyonce circa 2003 in the beginning. Secondly, this is like the 2nd video outta her entire career where she’s dancing in sneaks (the last time being Destiny’s Child’s “Lose My Breath”). Hooowever, the video seems short-changed. I kinda expected a more…actually a lot more. But it is what it is and at least the “Countdown” vid was on point. Now bring on “Party” already dammit!

  10. ALBUM COVER: RIHANNA - ‘TALK THAT TALK’ (STANDARD AND DELUXE EDITIONS)

First off, let me apologize for my lack of updates here on THE DOC REPORT. I’ve been finishing my moving process for the past week and it’s taken a lot more time that I thought with work and school. Buuuuut…I’M BAAAAAACK!

Now down to business, here is your look at Rihanna’s official album cover for her upcoming sixth album Talk That Talk.

This album has all the makings of being on some foolishness sheeesh the way things are going. First, I don’t like “We Found Love,” but I can tolerate it at this point and I’m only one opinion. Secondly, Talk That Talk has got to be the worst title ever. It makes no type of sense at this point. And lastly, this album cover…TRASH! Hell, I’d prefer Ciara’s Fantasy Ride cover over this at this point of the game. It just looks poorly put together and she sorta look like Beyonce from the B’Day era.

I will say, I appreciate her for adding the edges back to her signature ‘R’ logo. Also, I’m actually anticipating on hearing the music over anything, even if this era is starting off a hot foolish mess.

UPDATE: Here’s the deluxe edition cover, where RiRi’s smokin on something decent (only one can assume). I like this one better…a LOT actually. Looks like I’ll be buying the deluxe instead.

Talk That Talk hits stores November 21st

  11. MUSIC VIDEO: ADELE - “SOMEONE LIKE YOU”

Adele ditches the arm chair that starred in her “Rolling In The Deep” in favor of her actually walking around in her new video for her #1 single “Someone Like You,” the second lifted from her sophomore mega smash 21. The simple black and white clip, directed by Jake Nava (Beyonce, Britney Spears) shows love gone wrong in a beautiful setting of Paris.

The song has always been amazing since the CD dropped, especially the live performances. But the video just adds more to the epicness of “Someone Like You.”
